Archaeology
We hold a huge amount of archaeological material including thousands of items from Torrington’s medieval castle
Documents
We’re currently working on recording and digitising our archive of papers from Torrington going back to the 17th Century
Textiles
As well as historic clothing and uniforms we hold many costumes worn in Torrington’s annual May Fair, some nearly 100 years old
Photographs
Our archive volunteers are busy sorting and digitising an enormous collection of historic photographs of the town and its people
Conservation
Everything on display and in storage is conserved by trained volunteers to ensure they are preserved for future generations to enjoy
